Do I have to be a Christian?

No. Our support is available to people of every faith and none. Nobody will ask you what you believe, and nobody will ask you to attend anything.

Will you tell anyone what I have told you?

We keep what you tell us confidential within our team. The one exception is where someone is at risk of serious harm, and we will tell you if that happens rather than do it quietly.

Does it cost anything?

No. We will never ask you for money, and we will never ask you to pay us back.

What if you cannot help?

We will tell you, rather than leave you wondering, and we will try to point you to someone who can. Being told no quickly is more useful than being told nothing slowly.

Can I ask again later?

Yes. Circumstances change, and asking once does not use up your turn.

If you are struggling, you are welcome to ask us. You do not need to explain yourself twice, you do not need to share our faith, and you do not need to be at rock bottom to be worth helping.

We look at what we might be able to offer.
We come back to you either way — including when the answer is no, or when someone else is better placed to help.

Asking is not a promise of support. We would rather be clear about that now than raise hopes we cannot meet.

What we do with what you tell us

We ask for as little as we can. We do not ask for your address, or your date of birth, or your immigration status. We keep what you tell us within our team and we do not share it with anyone else without asking you first — unless someone is at risk of serious harm, and we will tell you if that ever happens.
